Track opens/click and log activity in Salesforce for any email sent in Outlook

The Basics

Track opens and clicks and/or log activity in Salesforce for any email you send in Outlook - not just those sent as part of your Sendbloom campaigns

For any email you write directly in Outlook, choose if you'd like to:

  • Track if anyone opens or clicks a link in your email, and/or
  • Log your email in Salesforce to the lead or contact based on your SFDC settings

Do I need anything to track my one-off emails in Outlook?

  1. You will need to get the Sendbloom Outlook Add-In from the Microsoft AppSource. You can download it here.
  2. Click the blue "Get It Now" button and use your email to login to your Microsoft account.

   3. Select "Continue" in the pop-up window:

4. Once it has been installed you will see Sendbloom in your managed add-ins tab:

Track and Log Activity from the Outlook Desktop Application (step-by-step):

1. Compose an email in Outlook (just like you normally would)

2. Make sure you click "Show Ribbons and Commands" so that you can see the Sendbloom buttons.

3. Click the Sendbloom Send button (top right corner next to Sendbloom Settings) to send the email. We'll automatically use your customized default settings to tell us if you'd like the email tracked and/or logged. You can update default settings here.

Note: If you'd like your email to track or log the opposite of your default settings, click the Sendbloom Settings icon next to the Sendbloom Send button to toggle tracking or logging on/off before clicking Sendbloom Send button. Clicking Sendbloom Send without this step will use your default settings

Note: If you click the regular send button Sendbloom cannot track the email.

4. That's it! We'll take care of tracking opens/clicks and logging the email in Salesforce.

Track and Log Activity from the Outlook Webmail (step-by-step):

1. Compose an email in Outlook (just like you normally would)

2. After you have written the email click the Sendbloom icon in the bottom right corner (looks like a colorful wheel).

3. Click the Sendbloom Icon again and select "SEND." We'll automatically use your customized default settings to tell us if you'd like the email tracked and/or logged. You can update default settings here.

Note: If you'd like your email to track or log the opposite of your default settings, click the Sendbloom logo-->Settings to toggle tracking or logging on/off before clicking Sendbloom logo-->Send. Clicking send without this step will use your default settings

Note: If you click the regular send button Sendbloom cannot track the email.

4. That's it! We'll take care of tracking opens/clicks and logging the email in Salesforce.

Now that I can track one-off emails how do I review opens and clicks?

You can  review opens and clicks real time with the Sendbloom Chrome extension by clicking on the Sendbloom logo in the top right hand corner of your browser window. If you do not have the chrome extension you can download it here.

Opens and clicks tracked by a one off email will just have the contact's email address listed in the extension window. Opens and clicks being tracked by a campaign in Sendbloom will have the campaign name listed below the contact's email address. You can click on any lead in your feed to be taken directly to their page in Salesforce (requires SFDC integration).

How do I review activity logged in Salesforce by Sendbloom?

Sendbloom will create and update a lead or contact record based on your email activity in Outlook. Each task created by Sendbloom will have [Sendbloom] in the title followed by your email subject line.

You can customize how Sendbloom creates tasks and updates leads and contacts through   Salesforce object field rules

I love this feature! Is this available for Gmail users? Yes! Click here for more info.
